Config, Figma's first design conference
On Thursday I attended Figma’s first design conference Config. I was particularly excited about this conference as I’ve been a fan of Figma for a few years and the speaking lineup looked fantastic. I arrived late Wednesday night in San Francisco and met up at a pre get together. It was a huge turn out at Southern Pacific Brewing and it was nice to meet a few people before the conference started.
Config opened it's doors at 8:30am on a surprisingly bright and sunny day. First on the main stage was none other than Dylan Field, Figma’s CEO. Dylan kicked off his talk by giving a brief history of Figma and then dove into the new releases on the design tool. The releases were fantastic and I am eager to try auto layout, the new font picker and color selection. On a funny sidy note, I have never witnessed so many designers excited at a conference that had feature releases. Many attendees cheered as the releases were being demoed.
